Spicy Rasam

Watery roads,

And slippery floors,

There’s water…. Water… everywhere,

Drowning plants grow tall to breathe,

Submerged ground enjoys the swim,

Critters and creepers come out of their homes,

Dark blue blanket covers the wet land,

Green is greener, brown in browner, and blue is bluer…

The washing continues…

Rains fall fiercely,

Drains are not enough,

Rain is relentless,

The drains are not enough,

Monsoons blesses us and punishes too,

To live, endure… it says.
